My native town is situated in the
Kharkiv Region.
It is an hour ride from Kharkiv
Some people can't imagine their lives without theatres, multistoreyed buildings and broad avenues-all that's typical of every big industrial city.
There are no theatres, multistoreyed buildings and broad avenues in my town, but still I do like it because I was born here,
my parents live here and I've spent almost all my life here.
You may think that the life in
a provincial town is rather dull and
far from being interesting.
Perhaps, you are right.
But I'll try to prove that this life has
got quite a lot of advantages.
Every morning you get up and
breathe in fresh air full of various
scents depending on a season: in
summer it is a smell of fresh grass
and flowers, in winter it is a smell
of frost and snow which covers
everything with its white thick duvet.
My native town becomes especially beautiful in early spring when there is a great many rose-shrubs in flowerbeds and everything is in blossom.
This time I like to tramp down the streets lined with chestnuts, mountain-ashes and limes.
Those who want to have some entertainment can go to the recreation park that is famous for its carrousels.
Those who prefer dancing may go to a disco.
It's rather popular with young people especially teenagers.
It's a pity we have no concert-halls or theatres but you may go to the cinema and see a film there.
We have a lot of opportunities to go in for sports because there are two big stadiums in the town.
I quite forgot to tell you that there are some good cafe's in my town, you can call at any of them.
I am sure you'll like it there if you want to have some ice-cream or coffee or just have a talk with your friends. |

в Харківській області.
Це в годині їзди від Харкова.
Деякі, люди не можуть уявити свого життя без театрів, багатоповерхових будинків і широких проспектів - усе це типове для кожного великого промислового міста.
У моєму місті немає театрів, багатоповерхових будинків і широких проспектів, але, проте, мені воно подобається, тому що тут я народилася, тут живуть мої батьки, тут я провела майже усе своє життя.
Ви можете подумати, що життя у провінційному місті досить нудне і нецікаве.
Можливо, ви маєте рацію.
Але я спробую довести, що життя тут має досить багато переваг.
Щоранку ви просипаєтеся і вдихаєте свіже повітря, наповнене різними ароматами, залежно від пори року: улітку це запах свіжої трави і квітів, узимку це запах морозу і снігу, що вкриває усе своєю білою і щільною ковдрою.
Моє рідне місто стає особливо гарним навесні, коли на клумбах багато рожевих
кущів і усе цвіте.
У цей час мені подобається бродити вулицями, обсадженими каштанами, горобиною і липами.
Ті, хто хоче трохи розважитися, можуть піти в парк відпочинку, відомий своїми каруселями.
Ті, хто віддає перевагу танцям, можуть піти на дискотеку.
Вона користується достатньою популярністю у молоді, особливо підлітків.
Шкода, що в нас немає концертних залів чи театрів, але ви можете - піти в кіно і подивитися фільм.
У нас є багато можливостей займатися спортом, тому що в місті два великих стадіони.
Я ледве не забула сказати вам, що в моєму місті кілька гарних кафе, ви можете зайти в кожне з них.
Я впевнена, що вам там сподобається, якщо ви захочете взяти морозиво чи каву або просто поспілкуватися з друзями. |
